Apprentice of the year - Construction

David Beck

Vale of Rheidol Railway

David was a hard working student, always seeking more information and information, he was as committed to expanding the subject knowledge element as he was to the practical training programme. David completed all practical work to a very high standard throughout his training programme. All exams were completed, with good grades across the units.David produced high quality joinery items at his place of work, witnessed as part of my site visits and observations. His employers were very supportive of him, giving him a fantastic experience, with a range of challenging joinery tasks. He’s moved on to the next stage of his training, the Level 3 Apprenticeship framework in architectural joinery.

Apprentice of the year - Construction

Samuel Lowe

Tim Brown Plumbing and Heating

Sam completed his NVQ and apprenticeship in record time! He was driven and motivated, wanting to succeed. As a mature learner, Sam joined the Level 2 Diploma prior to the apprenticeship and completed this with ease, whilst also being very keen and interested in the subject, Sam then balanced family commitments, work and apprenticeship for a period of time. Sam completed his NVQ in a matter of months and has continued learning by attending short courses and setting up his own plumbing business. Sam is now self-employed, having recently set up his own business - given his commitment it’s not surprising that the new venture is thriving.
