Apprentice of the year - Employability

Milliecia Anderson

Millie has landed her dream job as a nursery assistant after building her confidence and skills on an employability programme.

Working with college tutors, she built her trust and self-esteem to successfully overcome barriers and completed a Traineeship Level 1 in Work Skills, which included sessions on CV writing, interview techniques and communication skills.

A few failed interviews taught Millie the importance of resilience and never giving up. She applied for another job, attended the interview on her own and secured her dream job at the nursery.

Harry Dootson

Harry has bounced back from the disappointment of a medical condition thwarting his ambition to join the Armed Forces.

Harry worked really hard when he was on the Military Traineeship, his main aim was to join the Royal Navy as a submariner, but due to medical reasons he was unsuccessful with his application, so Harry turned to his Plan B! He was working part time at a Public House in Conwy and he enjoyed this role , so decided to take on an Apprenticeship in hospitality.
