Ceri is described by Ysgol y Gogarth as an outstanding and dedicated teaching assistant who is making an “exceptional impact” on children’s personal, social, emotional and academic development.

Alongside her Supporting Teaching and Learning in School Level 3 qualification, she has become a facilitator through the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Programme and completed the higher-level Teaching Assistant qualification.

The school says Ceri’s main strength is the support that she provides to children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. She delivers a range of intervention programmes and supports children through her use of Makaton.

She is committed to her own professional development as she sees how it impacts her role in school. She has facilitated Outstanding Teaching Assistant Programme training to staff colleagues and shares her knowledge to benefit others.

Teaching assistant Katy’s burning ambition is to become a teacher. Having completed Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 3 and Digital Literacy Level 2 qualifications, she is now attending university to study a Childhood and Family Studies Foundation Degree.

She helps teachers at Broughton Primary School prepare for lessons by preparing resources or equipment and is keen to complete any training that supports her role.

Whilst completing her qualifications, Katy researched, evaluated and clearly communicated information on various digital platforms and gained a wealth of experience within the school.

Teaching assistant Ryan’s engaging way of working with young children was highlighted as a strength in Saltney Ferry County Primary School’s recent Estyn inspection.

Ryan joined the school’s early years team in September 2021, when he began a Level 2 qualification, and has increased his skills and confidence.

Described by the school as “a fantastic asset”, he’s always ready for the next challenge - from dinner man to story time hero! The children love him and he’s become a positive male role model to the boys.
